Compliance, with Cocktails!
The data privacy movement is here – with regulations like CCPA and GDPR, as well as more laws on the way. Let’s make sure we’re prepared.
Pour your favorite cocktail and hear from a top executive who knows all about preparing a company for the intricacies of data privacy compliance.
Meet Karen Jackson, Manager for Corporate Application for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), one of the world’s largest ship classification societies. Karen plays an integral role in implementing many of ABS’ data governance initiatives. She joins Ron Davis, the Director of Data Governance and Data Privacy Solutions for Prolifics for a conversation about data privacy preparedness.
Founded in 1862, ABS has multiple arms in both non-profit and for-profit sectors. It examines ships in major ports throughout the world, assessing for compliance with ABS rules and verifying the vessels are mechanically and structurally fit.
Karen Jackson leads the Data Solutions team at ABS reporting directly to the CIO. Karen is responsible for the GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) programs across the organization globally. Her practice includes Data Governance, Enterprise Modernization, Automation, Data Warehousing as well as the measurement and metrics of these programs via Analytics and Reporting. Karen works out of the ABS Houston office and manages a team of data focused resources in both Houston and India.
Ron Davis is Director of Information Governance and Data Privacy Solutions for Prolifics.
