Prolifics London to Paris Charity Cycle!

Prolifics are partnering with Skylarks to embark on an epic London to Paris cycle ride for charity!

Our aim is to not only challenge ourselves physically but to also make a tangible difference in the lives of those supported by this incredible charity, which provides activities and therapies for children with disabilities and additional needs. Our goal is to build a strong, ongoing partnership that provides long-term assistance.

Previous cycling experience is not a requirement, our team will be there every step of the way to assist you in preparing for this exhilarating adventure.

Event Overview

Taking place on the 7th and 8th of June 2024, the route will cover approximately 260 km, divided into two stages:

• Day 1 – London to Newhaven, 100 km. The ride will start at 9 am and finish at the ferry terminal, where the participants will board the ferry to Dieppe. The ferry crossing will take about four hours, and the participants will spend the night at a hotel in Dieppe.
• Day 2 – Dieppe to Paris, 160 km. The ride will resume at 8 am and finish at the Eiffel Tower, where the participants will celebrate their achievement. The ride will include stops for lunch and snacks along the way. The participants will arrange their own return transport from Paris.

The event is open to up to 30 participants, including Prolifics employees, clients, and partners. The participants will be divided into groups of 6 to 8 riders, based on their cycling ability and preference. Each group will be accompanied by a van support and a ride leader, who will provide basic bike repair, first aid, and guidance on the road. The participants will also receive a ride jersey, a 12-week training plan, and a ride nutrition seminar to help them prepare for the event.

Fundraising and Costs

The event is a charity fundraiser for Skylarks, a charity that provides activities and therapies for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, and their families. Skylarks operates in London and relies on donations and grants to continue its work. The charity offers a range of services, such as play sessions, counselling, yoga, drama, music therapy, and more. The participants are kindly asked to raise a minimum of £1,000 for Skylarks, which will benefit the children and families supported by the charity.

A £xx non-refundable deposit to secure their place and cover some of the logistical expenses for the event. The deposit will cover the following costs:

• Ferry crossing from Newhaven to Dieppe
• One night hotel accommodation in Dieppe (double occupancy)
• Lunch and snacks on both days
• Ride jersey
• Van support and ride leaders

The participants will need to cover their own costs for the following items:

• Transport to the start point in London and from the finish point in Paris
• Dinner on both days
• Personal equipment and clothing
• Travel insurance

The estimated total cost for the event is £xx to £xx per person, depending on the number of participants and the exchange rate.
