FinOps is essential to businesses as it enables them to manage and optimise their cloud spending effectively while maintaining agility. By fostering collaboration between finance, operations, and technology teams, FinOps ensures that resources are used efficiently, costs are predictable, and investments in the cloud align with business objectives. This helps maintain profitability whilst facilitating growth and innovation.

It sounds straightforward and one would assume most organisations have a strong point of view on what a good FinOps strategy looks like. However, conversations we have had with organisations reveal that other factors often impact a planned strategy rendering it less effective. Once factors like security, risk appetite (e.g., DORA), sustainability, and the unpredictable nature of AI projects, are introduced, very quickly what seemed quite straightforward is now confusing at best, and at worst, costly and damaging to the business.

Prolifics don’t have a magic wand, but drawing on our experience in the marketplace, we feel that we can bring to bear tools and techniques to enable organisations to take control of their FinOps. But as in numerous aspects of life, the first part of addressing a problem is admitting you have a problem.

We are keen to engage with organisations and discover more about their FinOps journey. Together we can learn more about what has worked and suggest new paths that may lead to better results. We would be delighted if you could join us at the WCIT Livery Hall in the centre of the city to have an open and honest round-table discussion with thought leaders and your business peers.
